Overview

The F4U-1D was the first version of the legendary Corsair to be officially deployed from U.S. aircraft carriers. With its powerful engine, heavy armament, and distinctive inverted gull wings, it was a formidable fighter-bomber. On the bustling flight decks, these powerful aircraft were manoeuvred by small, hard-working "Moto-Tugs," which were essential for efficient flight operations.

This 1/48 scale kit from Tamiya provides a complete diorama in a box, pairing the classic F4U-1D Corsair with its flight deck tractor. The aircraft features the option to be built with its wings in either the folded or extended position, a full set of ordnance, and a seated pilot figure. The Moto-Tug is also highly detailed and comes with its own driver figure and optional tow-bars.
