Pure Class A Amplification

With both Class A and Class AB circuits, the AD-1PA+ supplies high-power amplification to any speaker load, made possible by the audiophile-grade toroidal transformer. The Class A circuit adopts a fully balanced, symmetrical, differential input to differential BTL power output.

Ensuring that only the best quality signal is passed through the amplifier, each channel features 24K gold-plated unbalanced (RCA) inputs along with a pair of heavy-duty speaker outputs.

High-Performance Toroidal Transformer

To achieve its impressive power levels in both Class AB and Class A modes, the Tonewinner AD-1PA+ is equipped with a large power supply, including a high-performance toroidal transformer of no less than 1200W. 16 large filter capacitors with a total capacity of 180,000µF ensure a clean and stable electrical signal. In addition, the left and right channels are independently power supplied.

The AD-1PA+ features a low-noise differential amplifier circuit for improved signal-to-noise ratio. The amplifier stage of the AD-1PA+ embeds 8 pairs of high-power transistors TTC5200 and TTA1943. These allow the amplifier to deliver a consequent power of 300W RMS (Class AB operation) per channel under 8Ω.

Powerfully Versatile

The Tonewinner AD-1PA+ has three operating modes: Class A, Class AB or Auto. A switch allows you to select the most suitable mode according to your needs and your installation. The Auto mode automatically switches from Class A to Class AB when the temperature of the unit reaches a certain limit and switches back to Class A once the unit's temperature drops.

With its dual speaker terminals, the Tonewinner AD-1PA+ offers the possibility of bi-wiring. This method of connecting to speakers can offer an improvement in sound quality by reducing the magnetic interactions of the cables. Alternatively, take advantage of the speaker A/B configurations and connect a second pair of speakers for easy referencing.

Perfect Isolation

The AD-1PA+ has been designed and constructed to physically separate the different sections of the device and thus ensure isolation from unwanted interference and noise. Both left and right channels adopt a independent power supply, which boosts the channel separation to the highest degree.

Built with an aluminium chassis and supported by a rigorous internal layout and shockproof feet, the AD-1PA+ is a resilient and powerful stereo power amplifier that will handle anything you throw at it.
