Overview
HMS Calcutta was a C-class light cruiser launched in 1918 for the Royal Navy. With the growing threat of air power, she underwent a significant conversion and emerged in 1939 as an anti-aircraft cruiser. She had a dramatic but short service in WWII, participating in the rescue of refugees off France before being sunk by German Ju-88 bombers during the Battle of Crete on June 1, 1941.
This 1/350 scale kit from Trumpeter allows you to build a detailed model of this historic British warship. Containing over 290 parts, the kit features a hull made from two-directional slide moulds for accuracy, a finely rendered wood deck pattern, and a photo-etched fret for fine details.
