When 'Donuts' came out, on J Dilla's birthday, February 7, 2006, it was with a drawing cover (scribbled up by Jeff Jank). Dilla had originally asked for, "some Quasimoto type shit," and this was it. As some years passed, the vinyl was eventually reissued with "the smile" photo cover, and the drawing eventually went out of print.
The album is ten years old now. Many new people have discovered the album and the work of our favourite producer along the way.
